Good sound, but...

Strengths: Great sound if worn properly, very good sound isolation.

Weakness: Can get uncomfortable if worn for a long period of time

I bought the SE210-K to ware under the helmet while I'm riding my bike. When I put them on at first, the sound was terrible, but quickly I realized that I have to really shove them in all the way to get the benefit of the good sound. The noise isolation is really good and these earbuds can seal it pretty well. I tried others before and I still could hear the wind swirling around my head while riding.

Now the drawback. After wearing those headphones for a while (About an hour or two) it gets uncomfortable and you'd feel the pressure in the inner ear.

Overall though I'm very happy with the buy and the good price.

Shuer SE210 earbuds

Strengths: Excellent price and excellent sound

Weakness: The cables are a little bit too short (unless you use the extensions)

Very satisfied with the quality of the sound. This are much better than the previous brand (Bose) I had. I wear this set while mowing my yard and I can listen to my songs very well.

Shure SE210-K (Black)

Strengths: Awesome sound quality, effective noise canceling, great case included.

Weakness: Uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

These are awesome earbuds that will put your stock earphones to shame. You don’t need to be an audiophile to appreciate the difference in sound quality. The increased bass and treble help to improve the listening experience. The active noise canceling is amazing as well. After wearing these for a while you will feel like you are in a different world. As soon as you take them off you will be amazed by how much sound was blocked out. Highly recommended!

Wow!!!!

Strengths: You won't hear much of ANYTHING when you have these in except for your music. Easy to use. Well-engineered and well-made.

Weakness: None.

I ordered these with a healthy bit of skepticism as to how well they would perform. After using them extensively for traveling, working out, and around my residence, it's obvious what an incredible product these ear buds are. I would strongly recommend these to any of my friends, and they are definitely worth their purchase price.

Very pleased!

Strengths: Very sturdy cord with two lengths, one good for wearing with and armband, one for regular use. Truly excellent sound quality in all ranges.

Weakness: The weight of the cord can drag on the earphone. Finding the perfect fit is required for the best sound and noise isolation, and this can be problematic, even with all of the sleeves.

I chose these headphones after several days of research, and am quite pleased. The weaknesses are minimal compared to the excellent combination of sound quality and sturdiness, that heavy cord means you won't have to replace these in a year! I recommend investing considerable time trying out the earphones sleeves to find the perfect fit - the better the fit, the better the sound. All in all, a great set of earphones, I honestly believe these are the highest quality in their price range.

Great sounding earbuds, better sound then the E2c

Strengths: Well balanced sound smaller package, good bass. I am surprised by how much better they sound then my old E2c's

Weakness: None that I can see now. Although the cord near the earbuds are thin. Don't like the plug connector it is straight up and down.

If this is what the $104.95 pair sounds like, the higher priced earbuds from shure must sound super! Wish I could afford them.I didn't think the E2c's were worth the price I paid for them, but the 210's defintely are!

Good Set

Strengths: Effective Noise Isolation; Clarity; High Signal-to-Noise Ratio; Variety of 'Sleeves'.

Weakness: Weak Bass; No 'in-line' volume control; Stiff Cable; Expensive.

The overall sound of this set is very, very good. But if you're a Bass enthusiast (like me) who wants more 'thump' you may find yourself tweaking the equalizer on your media player to get more 'lows' out of it. But the entire spectrum can be appreciated with ease. (NOTE: Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia offers amazing Bass).
*
The Noise Isolation is one of the best I have experienced so far. The foam sleeve completely blocked out the noise during my commute on the train.
*
The cable is somewhat stiff so it doesn't hang gracefully from the ears.
*
At this price, I wish there was a built-in in-line volume control (such as the Altec Lansing iM716) or include the optional EA650 that's available online for about $15).*
*
Because of this I'm only rating it as "Satisfactory"

Very nice sound and fit, before going into the...

Strengths: Sound; design; fit; cost (for high-cost in-ear phones); manufacturer support

Weakness: Slightly cumbersome cable system; cost

These in-ear phones truly have great sound, with good (but not overly-strong) bass and clearer treble. They occupy a nice sound/price niche, before going to the truly expensive in-ear phones ($200 and up). The sound is both rich and clear.

The fit of the earphones also is good. I had tried most of the phones in Shure's E-series phones, and only the E2C phones fit me well. The SE210s fit me as well, in a less cumbersome form factor. Adding that to the improved sound of the SE210s over the E2Cs, with clearer sound (which, I think, justifies moving up to them), and the SE210s are a nice step up. As is the case with Shure, the phones come with multiple types and sizes of tips--a good fit is almost assured.

The only detraction in these phones is Shure's decision to use a shorter cable which splits at its end, which then connects to an included extension cable, if desired. (The initial cable length is about a foot--fine for a digital audio player in a shirt pocket or on one's upper arm, but not much more.) This unnecessarily adds a small amount of bulk and weight to the phones (and also requires a larger carrying case), and I would have preferred a continuous cable at an appropriate length. A small in-line volume limiter also would have been a nice addition (although one can add one on, adding a bit of bulk). But in the end, the small cable distraction is vastly outweighed by the benefits these phones provide.

Highly recommended, as accompanied by Shure's typically good customer support and a 2-year warranty.

Nice upgrade to standard headphones

Strengths: Great sound, fantastic fit system, offered in white and black

Weakness: Cord length, high price

I'll address the fit system first as this directly relates to sound quality. The Shure SE210 headphones come with quite a few different inner ear sleeves to allow most anyone to find a good fit. I have small ear canals and found that the black foam pieces that came installed seemed to work pretty well (although I am still experimenting). You roll the foam to compress it, put the headphones in your ears at the proper angle and then hold them there as the foam expands again providing the sound isolating seal. If you do this right the resulting sound is quite rich with better bass then I expected.

My biggest complaint is the split cord system. The headphone cord is quite short and the included extension cord is thicker and stiffer making the whole thing very bulky for storage especially if you prefer to wrap the headphones around your player. Despite this shortcoming I am happy with my purchase.

Wonderful headphones

Strengths: Small size, available accessories, sound quality

Weakness: A bit pricey

I had E2Cs a year ago, and was unhappy with their fit. The earpieces were quite large and ugly. I tried some Etymotic ER-6i earphones for a while. I was impressed by their isolation and decent sound quality, but was unimpressed by the thin cord and sound that was not quite up to par of the Shure models.

So I decided to invest a bit more money, going into the SE210's. One of my best headphone purchases in a while. I can still use triple flange eartips for the best isolation. Sound is well balanced and the earpieces are comfortable. I love the option of being able to place the cord behind or in front of your ears (previous Shure models only made it easy to do so behind the ears, and the Etymotic only allowed it in front.)

I'm no audiophile, but these do sound quite good and balanced when hooked up to my iPhone. I purchased the [overpriced] music adapter to allow these to fit in the iPhone's recessed headphone jack and they work perfect for music and calls. The best investment in my iPhone (though almost $200 total when all said and done) that I could take advantage of until stereo bluetooth improves.

It's been a couple of months and I don't regret the purchase whatsoever.

Fantastic sound! Much better and more comfortable...

Strengths: Very comfortable, great design, sounds fantastic, superb warranty

Weakness: Expensive

The SE210-Ks sound incredible compared to the E2Cs (Shure's baseline model). These earphones have a great range from low to high frequency, and the low-frequency bass is much more pronounced than in the lower grade models. I've also found that the sound is much clearer and crisp compared to the E2C's (if that's even possible!).

The ergonomic design of these earphones is excellent as well. The rubber fittings are very softs and flexible. Sometimes I don't even notice that they are there. Also the earphone wire comes with a mid attach point where you can disconnect from your player without having to unplug these earphones from the player (you detach at the mid point), this is also convenient for extending the length of the wire.

The best part about these earphones is the 2-year warranty, which I have never had any problems with Shure honoring.

Great pair of earphones. You won't be disappointed.
